Major General Yousef El-Helo met today with Mrs. Karen Lemdal, the head of the EUPOL COPPS mission in Palestine, and the accompanying delegation, in his office in Ramallah to discuss ways for mutual cooperation with the palestinian police force. The Public Relations and Media Department of the police stated that M.General El-Helo welcomed Mrs. Lemdal and the European mission delegation and discussed with them ways of mutual cooperation. The dialogue also touched upon prospects for police cooperation, exchange of expertise, and evaluating joint projects between the mission and the Palestinian civil police. The challenges facing police work, mechanisms to overcome them, as well as the development and qualification of police personnel and administrative work were also discussed. In turn, Mrs. Lemdal expressed her appreciation for the police efforts towards progress and keeping pace with other countries, commending the development of Palestinian police work, which continually evolves to provide better police services to Palestinian citizens. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to enhance meetings between the EUPOL COPPS and the Palestinian civil police to discuss future cooperation prospects, ensuring that cooperation will continue to serve the interests of the Palestinian citizen and achieve their security and stability.
