Major General Hazim Atallah Opens Conference for Directors of Police Districts in Jericho.

15thDec.2014 (Jericho)—Major General Hazim Atallah inaugurated a conference in the Palestinian College for Police Sciences in Jericho, which is the second stage of a project to strengthen the structuring of police. The project is a joint activity between Palestinian police and the German Foundation for International Cooperation (GIZ). Head of the German representation office in Palestine Barbara Wolf attended the ceremony. In his speech, Mr. Atallah highlighted that he would move forward in building the Palestinian Police capabilities so as to be able to serve citizens perfectly, and to continue to develop Police performance  at the highest levels of efficiency.

Mr.Hazim Atallah expressed his appreciation and thankfulness to the German government for the support offered to the Palestinian Police in training and logistic fields.

The inauguration was attended by assistant police chief for planning and development Brigadier General Mohammad Sahmoud , and his assistant for districts affairs Brigadier Ramadan Awad, and the Directors of Police Districts, the college Director and number of specialized police departments, in addition to the German representatives.
Mr. Atallah added that the successful administrative work needs efficient management of human and financial resources in addition to the equipments, to enable police officers to carry out their duties while fully supported by their commanders.  

For her part, Wolff expressed her happiness for the meeting and for the warm welcome and thanked Major General Hazim Atallah, pledging that the German government would continue to support Palestinian police in training and equipment fields, which aims to provide and share of experiences between the two sides.

The conference included working papers provided by number Palestinian police officers and representatives of the German government and Dimension Company. Round table discussions were also organized in which participants discussed future expectations for the third level of the program to strengthen police structuring, and the final recommendations.
