Deputy Chief of Police Brigadier Gen. Jihad Al-msaimi Launches "Our Camp is More Beautiful without Drugs" Campaign.

Deputy Chief of Police Brigadier Gen. Jihad al-Masimi launched yesterday awareness campaign of the dangers of drugs in Qalandiya refugee camp under the slogan "Our Camp is more beautiful without drugs", which aims to educate citizens about the dangers of drugs , the damages it cause and ways to avoid them.

Police's public relations and media department reported in a statement "Deputy Chief of police Jihad Al-msaimi launched the awareness campaign in a ceremony organized by the Palestinian police in cooperation with Qalandia club for youth in Qalandia refugee camp.

Al.msaimi assures on the need to confront this disaster by all means because it's dangerous on our children and their future, and we all have to stand together against this disaster, stressing that the drugs combat is one of the national duties of the society, individuals and institutions.

For his part, Mr. Ahmed Awad, head of Qalandia Club for youth praised the role of the Palestinian police, also the club confirmed cooperation and ongoing partnership with the police to achieve the interests of citizens.  Mr. Zakaria Fayala representative of the Jerusalem District considered that drugs are harmful which must be uprooted, and combat it by all means in cooperation from everyone.

Mr. Jamal Abu leil member of the Revolutionary council of Fatah, pointed out that Qalandia residents and institutions stand by Police institution in order to protect the children of the camp and the Palestinian people all of the dangers of the drugs, and in the same context, Sheikh Hassan Odwan the leader of Qalandia mosque talked about the religious side of drug abuse which we  have to combat it,  and  stand together to protect our community from drugs. 

The statement added that the campaign was attended by  Colonel Ibrahim Abu Ein director of the Anti-narcotics department, and Lieutenant Col. Imad Yassin director of Jerusalem suburbs police and a representative of the district and the security chiefs and heads of state institutions, local authorities, and public institutions in the Qalandiya refugee camp. This ceremony came from a series of awareness-raising activities that will be carried out by the police in partnership with Qalandia social Club for youth against drugs and their dangers and methods of prevention and ways to avoid it.

The statement said that all the participants in the ceremony, took a  tour around the camp and distributed cards and awareness brochures about drugs and thier dangers, also the participants assure that they are standing together in order to eliminate drugs and thier promoters.
