Police and Anti-Corruption Authority sign memorandum of understanding to strengthen joint work

Ramallah - The General Directorate of Police - Police and the Anti-Corruption Authority signed today a memorandum of understanding and cooperation on the Anti-Corruption Law No. (1) of 2005 and its amendments and the Penal Procedures Law No. (P) of 2001 and its amendments and other relevant legislations.

Declaration issued by the Public Relations and Information Department in the police said that Major General Hazem Attallah, Director-General of Police and Mr. Rafiq Al-Natsheh, head of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Authority, signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation on the Anti-Corruption Law No. (1) of 2005, (P) of 2001 and its amendments and other relevant legislation.


This Memorandum establishes the mechanism of joint cooperation between the two parties in order to implement the provisions of the Anti-Corruption Law and related regulations and to enhance cooperation between the two parties to detect, prosecute, and investigate corruption crimes in an effective and professional manner.


In his speech, Major-General Hazem Attallah emphasized on the complementary relationship between the police and the Anti-Corruption Commission, which was characterized by professionalism and cooperation in serving justice and law enforcement. He described the signing as another brickwork for achieving complementarity in policing with the arms of justice, in order to provide better and faster services to citizens. And with high professionalism.

On the other hand, Mr. Rafiq al-Natshe, head of the Anti-Corruption Commission, confirmed in his speech on the depth and strength of the relationship between the Anti-Corruption Commission and the police based on mutual respect and the implementation of the law by the two parties in the integration of work between them. It is also working on joint training programs on crime investigation skills,As well as working on the preparation of joint training programs on the skills of investigating corruption crimes, so that they are directed to the elements and cadres of the parties and the prosecution of corruption to achieve justice and the preservation of human rights.


It was signed in the presence of Acting Chief of the European Police Mission Mr. Mike Alberts, Mr. Akram Al-Khatib, Head of Anti-Corruption Prosecution, Brig. Gen. Adel Helles, Inspector General of Police, Colonel Marouf Al Barbary, Director of Investigation Department, Colonel Dr. Khaled Sabatin,Chief of the General Director's Office.
